There's nothing like a weird photo that leaves you questioning what your eyes are seeing. Our particular favorites are those super candid shots that have us laughing out loud while simultaneously thinking, "What on earth?!" When Two Worlds Collide
Most of us have seen something unusual or weird when traveling on public transport. Be it super drunk people singing, couples fighting (or being way over-familiar), or people and their pets. And then there’s this: a hilarious moment when two worlds collided. Here we have two sweet-looking nuns minding their own business on their way to somewhere that’s probably holy and sacred while faced with two guys dressed as cheerleaders. We love those wigs, lads!
Whether some like it or not, public transport is just that: public. We just hope the nun covering her eyes in shock at this pair didn't miss her stop.
No Wonder They Call Her Ostrich Face
You would be forgiven for thinking this lady has an Ostrich face. We were a bit confused when we first saw this. Initially, we thought it was one of those joke pics where you swap your face with an animal face. But no. It's an actual woman riding an actual Ostrich. We discovered that Ostrich's necks are one meter long, so that's why this Ostrich head is covering this woman's head.
What we don’t understand is why she’s riding one of the world’s rarest and largest birds in the first place? We’re sure this flightless bird had better things to do, right?
Who’s Gonna Tell This Guy He Needs Better Hair Glue?
In between laughing, we feel kind of sorry for this poor guy who's out watching a sports game, having literally no clue that the glue on his hairpiece has come unstuck. Hopefully, his team hasn't come unstuck too, or that'd be an even worse day, right? The other possibility here, of course, is that he knows his hairpiece is standing to attention. Maybe things got a little heated under there, and he wanted to cool off?
After all, wearing what's essentially a carpet on your head all day long must get pretty warm, don't you think? Does anyone out there want to share their hairpiece horrors?
This Cat Is All Heart
Cats are so clever at keeping themselves clean. They are like contortionists. So here is a cute cat that’s somehow created the perfect heart shape as it cleans itself. Adorable, right? Right there, if you look toward the cat’s middle section, you can see the heart between its back leg and jawline! Without it, this would just be another standard image of a beloved feline taken by a besotted pet owner.
This pet owner is lucky to have a cat as heart-filled as this one. Even if it’s purely accidental, it’s still an endearing image.
What a Coincidence - They're Wearing the Same Shoes!
Here’s another optical illusion that we had fun staring at for a while. What looks like a woman and a security guy wearing the same shoes is, in fact, the reflection of the woman’s shoes in the mirror positioned on the lower part of this reception desk. It certainly gives the impression that the guy is partially dressed just the same as the woman, wearing a pair of black and white ballet flats, along with his suit jacket.
What adds to that is that his slim stature fits so neatly with the woman’s legs. It’s a neat trick. We’d like to see more images of him greeting visitors at this desk!
"You and I Are Not the Same," Said the Dog on All Fours
At first glance, this looks like a giant husky leaping up and scaring the joy out of a smaller one. Then we looked closer. Once we got past the smaller husky's shocked open-mouthed stare at being introduced to a giant version of itself, we realized what was happening here. Here we have a human dressed up as a husky. Maybe that's a thing in some parts of the world? We have no idea.
What we do know is that whoever is inside the costume had some fun that day by confusing some real-life animals with their size. The passers-by seem to find it funny too!
The Sleeping Miger (Man-Tiger)
Admittedly, this photo freaked us out a little. Why? Because it looks like a sleeping tiger with a human head. But don't worry, all is well in the world. We realized it was a man sleeping on his side underneath a blanket decorated with a tiger. Phew. Personally, we couldn't go to sleep under a blanket that had the largest wild cat in the world printed on it and a carnivorous one at that. After all, you can never be too careful, right?
We just wonder what this guy dreams about under this blanket. Tigers can run as fast as 65km/h, so we think our dreams would be full of us running like Olympian sprinters!
"Hey Barber, Just Make It Look Like a Hostess Cupcake"
Typically when we go to the barber’s or the hairdresser for a new look, we might take along a magazine image of the sort of haircut we want. Many of us will show our hairdressers a picture of our favorite celeb hairstyle in the hope that we too can look beautiful and glamorous. However, this guy took this to the next level. Instead of taking inspiration from a celebrity, he took it from a famous snack. His haircut looks so much like that cupcake that it’s uncanny and hilarious!
Whoever took this image has a great sense of humor. They saw an opportunity and took it. The guy in the picture will forever be known as that cupcake hair guy.
The Dangers of Public Transportation
This photographer saw his or her moment when traffic was at a standstill and pounced. They snapped a photo of a bus passenger fast asleep with their mouth wide open. They're oblivious to the fact their head is positioned right above an image on the bus's exterior of a very scantily clad woman. It's a funny and clever illusion. The passenger's head perfectly aligns with the drawing - what timing!
We don’t know if this passenger ever got to see this photo. Our advice? Keep your eyes open on the ride home. Otherwise, all sorts of unexpected things may happen.
When You Take Your Husky to the Groomer
No list would be complete without a few weird and wonderful animal shots. This time it's man's best friend at the dog groomers. We're not quite sure why this image was taken unless it was to demonstrate to future customers what a halfway-before-and-after-moment looks like. We've never seen a shaved husky before, so that's a first. It looks like a real-life bobblehead or just a weirdly photoshopped image - but it's neither of those!
This husky looks more like a giant furry lollipop without its thick coat. We wonder how strangers on the street would react if they saw this character walk past.
He's Always Watching
We love this image that gives the impression that this TV presenter can see through this screen, somehow knowing there’s a pointless and annoyingly large doily hanging over almost half the screen. It looks like he’s leaning his head to one side just to tell viewers, “Hey, what’s with the doily folks? Move the doily! I can’t see you here!” Honestly, the more we imagine that scene, the creepier this image becomes.
It seems that the owner of this TV just likes to dress up their furniture with bits of lace, even when the result means you can’t actually see what or who is on the screen.
Coffins Aren't Cheap, so Make Sure to Keep Them Tied up
Another image of something we’ve never seen before: a coffin tied to a lamppost. Why? We have no idea. Did someone buy it and have to rush into a nearby store to purchase something and was afraid someone would steal it? Or is it an elaborate and somewhat confusing Halloween joke? There are too many factors here that are difficult or impossible to assess. But we’re really curious to know if there’s anything, or anyone, inside this coffin.
We know that stranger things have happened, but this certainly makes our list of weird items photographers have snapped. We totally get why someone would share this online.
The Best Photobomb Anyone Could Ask for
This happy and smiling couple looks like they’re having a fantastic holiday. Here they are in the sea, with big smiles for the camera. You can’t miss the giant stingray in the background, which looks like it’s joining in by photobombing our grinning vacationers. Luckily for this pair, stingrays have a reputation for being gentle creatures. They only sting you if you disturb them, so this couple should be perfectly safe.
Most of us return from vacation with a few beach shots and pictures of amazing cocktails, so congrats to this couple for capturing such a gem. This is undoubtedly a photo of a holiday experience to remember!
We Promise It's Not What It Looks Like
Okay, so at first glance, you might think that this photo isn't exactly safe for work. But upon closer inspection, you'll learn that actually, the only thing not safe for work is your mind! There is absolutely nothing inappropriate going on in this photo. It's just a guy resting on his motorcycle while his helmet rests on the handlebars, of course! What did you think it was? Yeah, we thought so.
Listen, we don't blame you, but you should get your head out of the gutters. This guy's in public, after all!
It’s Cat Woman!
We all love selfies. They're part of the fabric of our lives. This pet owner decided it was time to have a selfie of her with her cat. So far, so good. However, the result was a bit confusing. We'll never know whether she accidentally got her camera angle wrong or intended to look like a half-cat, half-human. But, what we do know is that she looks good in a mustache.
Perhaps her cat just wanted to be included in this lady’s selfie, and this whole thing is accidental. Either way, we think this cat should have its own Instagram account so its owner can share more selfies.
When Everyone Wants The Same Tourist Photo
We love the silliness of this image. We have all seen photos of people looking like they have the Tower of Pisa in the palm of their hand or like the famous tower is falling down, and they're holding it up. But, here some clever person has taken a photo of tourists trying to achieve just that and, from this angle, absolutely failing. We don't blame these people for wanting that famous shot, but we can still giggle at how silly they look.
Mostly, we love the ridiculousness of this photo. It's a ten out of ten photograph.
Free the Cats!
There's nothing like emphasizing a point. In this instance, it's a cat owner who has put up four, yes four, large signs on these toilet doors to tell incomers not to let the cat out. So, in other words, if you want to pee, you will have to somehow get in and out without that feline escaping. We've no idea why. But, sadly, it looks like this cat disagrees with its owner's sentiments.
It looks comically tragic, with its paws pressed in desperation against the glass doors. So we’re secretly hoping this sad-looking cat managed to escape its lavatorial prison and have some feline fun.
That’s One Way to Have an Open-Top Bus Ride
Rather than squeezing himself inside this clearly packed-out bus, this inventive soul found a different way to travel. We think it's the perfect way to get from A to B and get some fresh air. As long as that chair is glued to the bus's roof and they don't go under any bridges, we're sure he'll be just fine. He certainly doesn't look worried, does he? On the contrary, he looks kind of relaxed and nonchalant up there, with crossed legs and all.
We don’t know if our intrepid traveler made it to his destination or if someone official pulled him and his chair down before the bus left on its onward journey.
This Bride and Groom Said Bye, Bye to Boring Traditions
We’ve all seen those super romantic wedding images of the bride and groom releasing white doves into the sky to symbolize peace and harmony. Maybe the doves were busy on this day? So here’s our happy couple having fun throwing a couple of raw chickens instead. A quick search tells us that apparently, the birds represent prosperity and abundance, so if that’s true, maybe that’s why? Or perhaps they just have a sense of humor.
Whatever the back story is to this image, let’s hope they and their wedding guests only went home with slices of a wedding cake to remember the day, not salmonella.
He Takes Road Signs Very Seriously
So what do you do when you pass an upside-down road sign? You imitate it, of course. That’s what this person did. So instead of, say, walking past this pedestrian sign or even trying to reposition it the right way up, he’s done something else. Here he shows us how skilled he is at doing a headstand on the sidewalk. It must take a lot of dedicated practice to do a pose like that, so we’re super impressed.
We hope he didn’t get too much grit in his head after this stunt or accidentally dipped his head into something revolting that someone had left on the sidewalk there.
A New Kind of Oxygen Tank
Here's a couple wearing what looks like modern-day oxygen masks while carrying glass or perspex cases strapped to their backs. Inside each case, we can see very healthy-looking greenhouse plants. Their purpose? We think they're being used to help this couple inhale what we imagine is oxygen via photosynthesis produced by the plants. Alternatively, the pair are heading on vacation and can't bear to leave their house plants behind.
But we don't think so. So maybe this is what our future looks like, folks? There's keeping it green, and then there's this. We're somewhat speechless. Have you got any thoughts?
The Cat Knew Exactly How to Pose
It’s great when you can get your furry friend to do what you want. In this case, this cat owner decided to recreate a scene from one of the most famous movies ever, using the family cat and a model of a Star Wars stormtrooper, aka TK Stormtroopers or TK troopers. We think this cat seems kind of relaxed about it, and his expression seems to match the dinosaur in the Star Wars movie scene.
While some may feel that this is a step too far, we are going to stick to the positive and say that this lovely-looking furry friend looks loved and cared for.
This Cashier’s Face Says It All
So someone is either making a lot of banana cake or banana ice cream, or they work at the local zoo and it’s feeding time for the animals. We’re not sure we’ve ever seen that many bananas on a supermarket checkout conveyor before. This cashier looks like he certainly hasn’t and is likely to be imagining how long it will take him to weigh and bag up this haul.
Let’s hope this happened at the start of his shift and not at the end of a long day when all he was hoping to do was get home and put his feet up with a beer or two.
Does This Cat Have a Third Front Leg or...
It’s a well-established fact that pets are great entertainment. Especially cats and dogs. They can be more fun than some TV shows we’ve recently watched. So, here’s a photo of a somewhat sinister-looking cat staring into the distance. What’s most noticeable, however, is that the cat seems to have an extra leg. We know it’s not a tail; we can see where it should be, so what’s going on here?
We guess the cat is a bit of a contortionist and has somehow tucked one of its back legs between its two front legs. The overall effect is a little bit spooky, don’t you agree?
Can Someone Please Explain What's Going on Here?
We weren’t really sure how to headline this particular image: what on earth is going on here? It’s a yoga class. There are women. They all appear to be there voluntarily. But all their heads are at one end of a long fabric tube that has someone else’s head at the other end. So far, so confusing, right? Finally, after digging around that treasure trove called the internet, we found a possible answer.
According to Reddit, it’s an “experience tube” that connects two heads so only they can see each other’s faces, eliminating outside influence. The tubes even have their own website. Imagine.
The Perfect Floral Camouflage
We are used to seeing military camouflage or military-style clothes that seem to rise and dip in popularity, but this is our favorite. It is fun, not to mention floral and happy. Whoever this man was, he happened to be wearing a floral shirt one evening as he walked past these shrubs and saw his chance. He bent down low enough so his upper body merged with the matching real flowers.
Let’s hope that no one mistook him for part of the shrub and crashed right into him. Hats off to him for seizing the moment and having some fun on his night out.
Shrek and Donkey Take a Walk
What do you do when your pet donkey needs a walk? You slap on some green face paint, pop on your green Shrek hat, and step out, of course. Here’s a fabulous image of a guy walking his donkey while wearing his everyday clothes. Still, from the neck up, he’s totally Shrek. We love it. What also makes this picture funny is his expression. He looks nonplussed as to why he might be attracting some attention.
Why wouldn’t you do this if you were a mega Shrek fan who happened to have a donkey at home? We wonder what Eddie Murphy would say if he saw this picture.
What Are the Odds of This Trio Appearing in the Same Moment?
We love this image of a plastic Jesus on a car dashboard. Here he is with his hands raised, and it looks like he's either summoned this amazing-looking storm or he's hoping to quell it. The photographer captured the moment perfectly. First, there's Jesus on a spring on the dashboard. Then there's the flash of lightning and thunder and a stunning rainbow across it. The scene is somewhat biblical, don't you think?
Whether this image was a lucky accident or the owner spotted the moment and took their chance, it looks like it had all the elements of a truly dramatic storm with a fun twist.
How to Tell Your Twins Apart
It’s tough on parents of twins. For all sorts of reasons, it can be a real challenge looking after them, however cute they may be. One problem faced by many people when they meet twins is how to tell them apart. This parent decided on a quick-fire solution to that problem. Just get numbers 1 and 2 shaved onto their heads. That way, we all know which is which and who came first!
This strategy probably saved this parent a ton of time answering the same questions over and over again from friends and passers-by, so, we say, why not? Whatever works for you.
We Also Like It When Our Pets Sleep in Our Bed
Most kids need their favorite toy, doll, or a comfort blanket to help them get to sleep. That, and a bedtime story from mom or dad. This little girl has something else. Her very own Lion. We have so many questions about this image. Why is there a Lion in her bed? Why is there a Lion in the house at all? Does he bite? Take a look at the girl’s face.
When we zone in a little, we’re unsure if she looks completely thrilled to have that giant cat in her bed. Maybe a bit apprehensive, but hey, we think she’s as bold as a lion!
When You Accidentally Leave the Dog at Home and Take the Iron Out Instead
Yes, your eyes really aren’t deceiving you. You’re not hallucinating. Not this time. This really is a picture of a woman in her winter clothes, standing in the snow, while holding an iron by its lead and watching the traffic. Given the iron isn’t plugged in anywhere, we can’t see any real practical motivation behind doing this- unless it’s just one of those random prank shots that the internet seems to love.
If it's not a prank, then she may have thought by unplugging a hot iron, she could trail it in the snow to try and melt it. Or it's 'Bring Your Iron To Work Day?
This Guy Sure Loves Himself
Here’s another lovely example of an optical illusion. What looks at first glance like two people in a loving embrace is, in fact, one guy with half his face obscured by his hoodie, so he looks like he’s kissing an anonymous hidden partner. It’s a clever idea; all he’s done here is cover half his body with his sweatshirt, using one hand to hold his face while holding his iPhone with the other.
One of our other favorite details is that we can see he’s forgotten to leave the bathroom toilet seat down, unless we’re being unfair and he lives alone, in which case, go for it!
It Was a Watermelon Hit and Run
We all know the saying, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” but what happens when life gives you watermelons instead? We think the same maxim that encourages optimism and positivity can be applied here too. So here’s a guy pictured by the side of the road sitting next to what looks like a giant haul of watermelons that have fallen off a truck. But, instead of just walking past, he’s seen an opportunity.
Why let all that juicy and sweet fruit go to waste when you can grab a few extra free vitamins? Maybe he can scoop some up and take it home?
Someone Had Some Seriously Stinky Business to Do
There are exclusive ticket-only private events, and then there's this one, seemingly taking place in the men's toilets. So far, so confusing. Typically, when you see signs outside public toilets, they refer to other topics such as cleaning or maybe charging a fee to use the facilities. Instead, this image lends itself to a fair amount of head-scratching, leaving us wondering what kind of event would occur here; and we're trying to keep it clean here, folks!
The best explanation we can come up with is that the usual sign that staff use to tell customers the restroom is shut must be missing. So hats off to them for improvising.
This Diner Prefers Knitting Their Food Before Eating It
We love this image. Instead of eating their bowl of noodles, this diner has chosen to display their crafting skills instead. Whoever the person in this image is, she’s proved chopsticks have more than one use. She’s used them to knit her noodles into a little scarf! She must be pretty skilled since noodles are somewhat fragile and slippery. We just hope she’s a fast worker. Otherwise, her dinner will get cold.
What we’d like to know now is, did this knitter eat her creation in one mouthful or take it home with her as evidence of her innovative take on dining out?
Something Tells Us They're Very Excited About the Divorce
What better way to tell the world you’re free and single again than by decorating your lawn with celebratory divorce decorations? We especially love the “mission complete” and “wild and free” signs. There’s no doubt that whoever the lawn owner is, they’re glad to be rid of whoever they were married to. And why not? If you were so unhappy in your marriage and finally freed yourself, it’s worth celebrating, right?
Next up, we’d like to see images of this person’s after-party. Judging by these decorations, we imagine it would be a no-holds-barred, let it all out joyous kind of affair, don’t you think?
This Cat Has a Bad Case of Chicken Pox
This image of these cute-looking chicks keeping warm on this gorgeous tortoiseshell cat is adorable. We love how all these chicks are just eyeballing the cat right back. He or she doesn’t look too pleased to find ten furry friends sitting on their tummy at nap time. We have no idea if the photographer set this image up or the chicks simply saw an opportunity too good to miss out on.
We’re just glad the photographer was there at the right time to capture this special moment when baby fowl and feline were able to happily coexist for a few seconds.
Wow, Canadian Bills Sure Look Funny
There are so many questions surrounding this image of a congealed fried egg in a store/restaurant till. The obvious one is: why? After that, well, was the egg used to pay for something? How will the person who put it there get it out without getting egg all over the till? We think we know what happened here. This till is managed by someone who loves and needs their food.
Possibly they’re prohibited from eating at work and were just about to tuck into lunch when the boss arrived. So what do you do? Simple! Get rid of the evidence, and save it for later!
Here’s One Way To Keep Your Mask In Place
Let’s face it, we all want to look to the future after two challenging years, but COVID is still here, and in some countries, people still wear masks. For a time there, they were a trend. Not so much now. However, here is a novel idea for anyone who still wants or has to wear one. There’s no need for your mask elastic to irritate the skin behind your ears.
Instead, embrace the trend and hook your mask onto a baseball cap decorated with mini ears, like the person in this picture. We think it’s a novel idea that’s not at all eerie.
Looks Like He Gets All the Chicks
There are all sorts of reasons why someone might flex their biceps. For example, to show how strong they are, to scare away a potential enemy who means us harm, or to simply show off. In this instance, however, this guy’s big and strong-looking bicep is being put to great use. So here he is, giving this cute little fluffy duckling a safe place to hang out for a while.
We think this pair makes a great team. The duckling looks happy, and the bicep’s owner seems delighted to share his strength. We’re wondering how long he can keep that flexed like that.
