It Is Reassuring to Hear a Scientific Reason to Not Diet
Dieting is an annoying practice that we have created with the hope of losing some of our winter weight. It is often filled with annoying food groups we would rather ignore and way too many cheat days. It is nice to be reassured that there is a scientific reason behind the fact that we have yet to lose any significant weight after several days of eating lettuce wraps like a rabbit.
To learn that the Lord and Savior have blessed our fat cells with eternal life provides the answers to why we have yet to drop those extra few pounds after dieting.
Our Very Own Personal Black Hole
Black holes are one of the scientific discoveries in recent decades that had led to more questions than answers for casual everyday people. The black hole in this person's kitchen floor that is consuming all of the food that they are dropping is really making us ask even more questions about these mysterious cosmic bodies of gravity. How did one get into their kitchen? Where is the food going?
Thankfully, these questions are answered with a second glance. This black hole of food is just an absolutely adorable puppy who is asking for more edible sacrifices for being cute.
Science Has Verified That the People Are in the Walls
When moving into a new house or apartment it is always interesting to see what was left behind by former occupants. The former owner of this apartment decided to create a miniature apartment model that fits snuggly behind the power outlet so that when the future owners attempt to figure out why there is no electricity coming from this outlet they will find themselves intruding on someone else's apartment instead.
We could see this ending badly if the new occupants of this apartment decided to take this mini apartment as a sign that there are people living within their walls.
They Have Been Telling Us That the Earth Was Flat
After many, many years of being told that the Earth is spherical and watching scientists and other adults laugh at those 'flat-earthers,' it has occurred to the world's top scientists that Earth remains the most unique planet in our solar system. This is not only due to the planet's ability to sustain human life, but also thanks to its flat, squarish appearance as has been depicted below for our reference.
We're not sure if we should feel betrayed at being lied to or if we should be ashamed for how we have been laughing at those 'flat Earthers' conspiracy theorists. It's right there in the picture!
Everyone Is Beautiful on the Inside, Even When They're Ugly
Mary Bevan was considered the world's ugliest woman. Even though all people are beautiful on the inside some, like Mary, are less fortunate on the outside. Instead of accepting her fate, this woman took charge and decided that she was going to be an entrepreneur and turned all of her bullies into paying customers when she joined a circus as the world's ugliest woman. A reminder that someone reading this can do the same.
Kidding aside, it is impossible to even poke fun at this woman's looks when she literally took her biggest disadvantage in life and turned it around into her biggest asset.
"If at First You First Dont Succeed, Try, Try, Again"
The age-old adage is often a meaningful piece of advice. Initially, it would seem in poor taste to tempt fate by repeating this tragedy. However, that was until we learned about climate change, which is so often depicted as negative. At least there is one upside, there are no more icebergs. This means that this Titanic replica, that's set to sail in 2022, is unlikely to befall a similar fate.
Melting all the icebergs for this might not have been the intention of the scientists who discovered climate change, but it is nice to see a silver lining in everything.
It Isn't Too Hard to See Where She's Coming From
Albert Einstein is probably one of the world's most well-known scientists in history, and even today he is a common topic taught in schools and a standard feature of the world's most influential and impactful people. After having learned for years that this one individual changed the face of physics and math for all of us it is no surprise to wonder how this person could have possibly existed.
With people just now discovering that the myth, the legend, Albert Einstein was real we feel a responsibility in reassuring everyone that the theoretical physicist was actually a real person.
Discovering the Science Behind 'To Kill Two Birds With One Stone'
It is always better to be productive and efficient whenever possible in our daily activities and at our jobs. The age-old adage of "killing two birds with one stone" often connotates getting two tasks done with one action. While we are not always the most efficient people or as productive as would wish to be it is always inspiring to see how others have achieved high levels of productivity.
Whoever would've thought that the extinction event that led to the erasure of dinosaurs from the world would one day inspire the human race. Truly, it was some amazing efficiency.
This One Is for All the Chemist and Chemistry Students
Chemistry courses in the education system are where people's most horrifying nightmares take place. However, for the nerds and science peeps out there, there is nothing like some chemistry jokes to brighten the mood. The license plate of this car spells out the chemical equation for Glucose, also known as sugar, and the fact that it is on a white, cubed-shaped car just brings a smile to all chemists.
Be honest with us, who doesn't want to drive around in a gigantic sugar cube? Like that just sounds like the stuff that dreams are made out of for us.
"Please Hold While We Try to Find That One Thought"
We are extremely busy people. From always learning new things to trying to remember all of the tasks to complete today. With all of those thoughts going around in our minds it is not impossible for things to start to get a bit overcrowded up there. So this person's definition of their mind as an overworked internet browser makes us feel that we are being understood for the very first time.
Please hold while we attempt to stop singing along to Disney soundtracks. One of our brain's frozen browsers keeps playing Disney's sing-a-long and we cannot seem to close the tab.
When the Interviewer Asks if We Have Any Unique Skills
We all have those odd talents that no one else can do or, more likely, everyone else is just too embarrassed to attempt. These skills often come out at our school's talent show competitions or when trying to impress our friends at the bar. Most often, we leave those skills alone as they are unlikely to help us keep or get a job. However, that is not the case here.
Perhaps he listed this on the CV and the boss asked for proof or, more likely, this man felt like showing off unprompted. His shadow does look like a turtle.
The Next Van Gogh Has Been Discovered Painting Garage Doors
Artistic talents are nothing to scoff at and some people are extremely talented. The painter who decided to design their garage doors felt a need to show off their talents and we are sure that it resulted in some double-takes. Hopefully, there were no traffic accidents as people pondered the impossibility of this realistic artistic painting. How did that get there? Is that real? Wait, how is that possible?
What must be going through people's minds as they see this impossibly large construction truck being snuggly tucked into this garage, we can't even begin to imagine.
The Upcoming Zombie Apocalypse Just Got a Whole Lot Scarier
Everyone has thought of or actually prepared for the zombie apocalypse in some way or another. For some, it means watching The Walking Dead and for others, it might mean purchasing a shotgun. When this person brought to light the fact that self-driving cars will result in some corpses driving around to their various destinations it drastically changed the game for all of us. Zombies will be able to drive!
With zombies being able to drive in their self-driving cars their greatest weakness, their slowness, has now been overcome. The future of the human race has suddenly gotten way darker.
When the Science Class Notes Are a Work of Art
Science classes and lectures can be scary, dark, confusing places. The teachers are pointing at microscopic images and saying, "Don't y'all see that?" and we all nod along while not seeing anything. That is when borrowing a classmate's note can come in clutch when it comes time to catch up on the past weeks of material for the upcoming exam. Except, this time those notes are a piece of art.
They drew the entire human skeleton, but rather than depicting each bone placement within a drawing of the skeletal system it has the entire system's numerous names instead of the bones.
When an Image Perfectly Contains Dual Meanings Behind Old Technology
Technology has been rapidly advancing these last few decades at an unprecedented rate. So fast that we are not even able to keep up with modern-day technology. Sometimes it is a comfort to return to the technology of the past before it got complicated. This image shows a child pressing the controls of an old television set which perfectly goes along with its captions of a 1970s remote control.
Does the caption imply that the remote control is the control panel on the old television set or is it the child being tasked with pushing specific buttons on the TV?
Legos Will Now Be a Staple in Every Science Classroom
For scientists and nerds, it is always fun explaining to others how things work to other people. It is always a good time when you get to use your knowledge to impress your family or friends. It is even better, as the person explained below, when you get to use your understanding of science to land yourself a job by impressively explaining the DNA sequence using only differently colored legos.
The interviewer needing to take a pause before stating "That's a really good answer" accurately sums up how we all feel about this person's explanation of DNA using only legos.
Often Times Children Are Truly the World's Most Intelligent Population
Children are often depicted as those who are filled with innocence and idiocy. Usually, this comes from videos of kids touching red-hot stovetops or talking about their imaginary friends. However, we are also quick to forget that sometimes they're also the most perceptive as this child showcases by her putting her aunt in her place when she reminds her aunt that one can tell a deer's gender by their antlers.
The aunt thought she was about to educate her young niece about the complexities of gender, but it ended up that the aunt was the one who needed a lesson.
Who Knew That Slap Gate Would Bring Back a Classic
The famous actor, Will Smith, recently shocked the world with his involvement in the infamous 'Slap Gate' event. Whether Will Smith slapping Chris Rock was right or wrong is not for us to decide, but whoever did put this compilation of images together was 100% on point. For those who still haven't caught on, we will give you a hint: "We will rock you." Darn it, now we're singing along.
It took us a second as well, for those who are struggling. We had no clue that the iconic song "We Will Rock You" would be making such a comeback.
Alien Visitors Must Think That Earth's Drama Is Television Worthy
We have all heard conspiracy theories or even serious facts that either verify or seem to make it extremely likely that Earth is often visited by some friendly neighbors from space. The question then becomes: "why do they keep coming back?" Our extraterrestrial visitors must be finding our drama quite entertaining to keep returning year after year since they discovered us. The question remains: what must they think about 2022?
The 2020s has been a wild ride so far for the human race. It often does feel that we must be starring in a television series for someone else's entertainment.
This One Was Perfectly Made for the Botanist Out There
Science is a massively diverse and unique subject with many areas of expertise. The most amazing thing about it is the different types of jokes that are reserved only for each discipline's experts. Since science and nerd humor is the best kind of humor and this is just a tiny taste of the types of jokes that await everyone in the scientific community. People will never smell flowers the same way again.
Every Botanist has been laughing at everyone who has stopped to smell the roses. No one knew that they have been sticking their faces in the plant's genitals until now.
Confirmation That Tech Support Operators Must Get the Craziest Calls
Being involved or working in the tech industry means that interactions with everyday people will be filled with awe and amazement. The techies will be amazed that people do not understand the simplest concepts and everyone else will be awed that they have all of the answers to their technologies woes. However, this conversation might not be the type of debate that computer scientists and technology experts thought they'd have.
The mouse has been the tool that we've used to click on our computers for our entire lives. Until this conversation convinced us that it should be called a hamster.
This Fun Fact Has so Many Beautiful and Hilarious Layers
The Swedish astronomer who invented the Celsius system of measurement had no clue that they had just started a war that would be waged on until today between those who believe in the superiority of the Fahrenheit system versus the Celsius system. While this war wages on in the present day it doesn't stop the humorous confusion that often happens when converting between the two different systems of measurement.
It is hard to blame the Farenheit follower's confusion when Anders Celsius's died at the young age of 43. Especially since it converts so seamlessly into the ripe, old age of 109.
When the Pet Monkey Takes Over While the Owners Are Out
Everyone has learned in their biology courses how the human race came to exist from monkeys through the magical process of evolution. What no one knew was that those monkeys had owners. We can only imagine that when they told their monkey not to burn down the house while they were gone that they thought that they were merely joking around. Oh, who knew how wrong they were going to be.
Our ancestors' owners did not expect us to break their rules in just a dramatic fashion. We didn't merely burn the house down, we burnt the entire world down.
We All Know Someone Who Doesn't Seem to Have a Brain
Human existence is primarily due to many lucky coincidences. Unfortunately, that means that the human race also did not necessarily get to where it is by being the smartest or brightest creatures in the world. Fortunately, there is hope that the human race will continue to thrive at the top of the food chain to be found in our fellow creatures such as the Jellyfish who exist without any brains.
Jellyfish have been around for 650 million years and this gives hope that the future of the human race, many of whom act like they don't have brains, is bright.
Science Has yet to Answer the Truly Existential Questions
Science is fantastic for answering some of the most complex questions about our bodies and the world that we live within. However, the greatest minds of our world have yet to give us answers to some of the deeper questions we have about our existence. Such as what's posed here: "What if they aren't stars at all, but holes poked in the top of the container so we can breathe."
All we have to say is that there hasn't been a scientist who has verifiably said that the stars are NOT holes in a container of the entire human existence.
We Do Have to Question the Logic Behind Analog Clocks
Telling time from analog clocks can be a difficult exercise and is becoming more and more difficult for each generation as digital clocks become accessible to everyone through their phones. With them becoming difficult enough that deciphering the time has become a topic in classrooms maybe we should be asking why they were made to be so darn confusing to us. Who is the person responsible for crafting these mischievous devices?
The clock's inventor did have some evil fun with their invention. If one ever questions this they merely need to look at this person's attempt to explain the invention's logic.
Got to Watch Out for These Horrible Homing Pigeon Scams
Who is the person that posted this sign that they have successfully scammed twenty-two people into purchasing their homing pigeon? We are unsure if this person is a made genius that has discovered the perfect scam or if they are just an excellent entrepreneur who has discovered a new market. We will leave that decision up to the readers. Either way, they are at least being honest about their product.
Part of the genius of this business plan is that is it all in the name since a homing pigeon is called a homing pigeon because they return home.
When the Metric System Has It Out for the Imperial
The age-old war between the Metric versus Imperial system has been a hot and divisive battleground. With only three countries still actively using the Imperial system of measurement, it seems to be a losing battle for the USA, Liberia, and Myanmar. In fact, the Americans have already lost key footing as depicted below by the adorable face of a baby duck. The realization is shocking down to the core.
It is truly a shock to learn that the word 'thermometer' has the despicable word 'meter' hidden within it. We are as shocked as the duck that it isn't 'thermofeet'.
When the Elementary School Student Has Achieved Sass Level 1000
Being a student is something that everyone has to go through. This stage of our lives is filled with challenges and accomplishments. Due to the various difficulties that a student might encounter it is healthy to maintain a positive attitude. Sometimes this requires one to have a coping mechanism such as this student who answered a math problem with the most obvious answer rather than calculating the ribbon's circumference.
The student's final portion of the answer that "It's really not that difficult Susan" summarizes why this child is going places and that math does not always have the answer.
If It Buzzes, Is Yellow, and Fly Then We're Running
Bees and their various cousins within the animal kingdom have been stressing out people since the very first interactions. However, not all of these flying, buzzing creatures are dangerous to humans. Someone felt the need to point out the difference between the various types of flying, buzzing creatures we'll encounter in the coming summer months. In a helpful manner, the poster's author highlights our true feeling regarding wasps by labeling them 'bastards.'
Even though people keep telling us that all these creatures are very different and not all of them sting we are running whether it is a 'Bastard' or a 'Honeybee.'
We Have Never Felt so Connected to a Baby Elephant
Baby animals are so freaking adorable to humans. We're not sure what about them makes them so cute, but this baby elephant perfectly summarizes a mood that all of us have encountered at least once. Since it's unable to drink using its trunk at such a young age the elephant just throws its face into the water to get a nice sip. If only this was socially acceptable amongst humans.
While this is a survival mechanic for the elephant the image evokes a strong mood of laziness or struggling that every single person can relate too on some deep level.
Everyone Has That One Friend Who Just Doesn't Get It
The nerds and scientists of our society have been plagued with the curse of living alongside the rest of us. Being a scientist, a nerd, or simply being smart in any way means that you have just been forced by society to explain things that the rest of us do not understand. The feelings of inadequacy are common in these situations and this adorable puppy sums up our feelings perfectly.
That puppy's cute face and puppy eyes as it looks up to its owner is exactly how each of us feels when we just are not understanding what they're saying.
Sometimes School Was Not About Academics but About Curing Boredom
School, especially elementary and middle school, was a time that was both about learning basic arithmetic and finding new ways to satiate our curiosity during periods of boredom. Sometimes this was remedied by passing notes in class or crafting the perfect paper airplane. This student was a bit more scientific and decided to mess around with their perception of reality by placing a green ruler in front of their eyes.
The meme evokes thoughts of night vision and reminds us all about the topics we should have been paying closer attention to in our younger years before they became relevant.
Apple Getting Into the Electric Car Game Is Highly Concerning
Telsa is probably the world's most well-known electric car company out there, and Apple remains one of the world's largest computer companies that has been known for breaking into other industries such as when they came out with the Apple Watch. If Apple was to break into the car industry then we can expect some big waves to happen in a short period of time. However, this image causes concern.
Seeing the Apple charger's placement on their electric car requires us to flip our cars to charge up makes Apple's electric cars seem less appealing and extremely hazardous. We'll pass.
Branding and Logos Are Underutilized on the True Rock Stars
Scientists throughout history into the present day have been shaping the way that the rest of us perceive the world and our understanding of how it works. Truly, scientists are the world's rockstars. While actual rockstars may have been geniuses at conveying our everyday emotions through musical lyrics, scientists have been actually explaining exactly why we feel emotions through scientific methods. So, why don't scientists get the same branding treatment?
This chart showing some of the world's greatest scientific minds' logo designs and makes a future where scientists are treated like rockstars a real possibility in the near, brighter future.
What Must Animals Think When They Go Into Pet Carriers?
Our animal companions are oftentimes the best bringers of joy to our daily, routine-filled lives. Their utter joy every single time their owners come home and their blissful innocence brings a smile to our faces. How many times have we wondered what is going through their minds? The creator of this image has decided to answer that very question regarding our animals' comprehension of the function of pet carriers.
"Is it a wormhole?" the cats ask as they ponder the carrier. These are some deep questions. Perhaps all the greatest thinkers got their inspiration from their very own cats.
Attention All Water Drinkers: That Is Some Poor Fish's Home
Becoming vegetarian or a vegan is an important life decision that sometimes is decided for us due to health reasons, but is more often decided by the moral implications of eating meat. While it is an amazing decision for them to take on the lifestyle of a vegan for moral reasons, do they know that they are also making fish homeless? It is a sad truth, as verified down below.
As stated by Ruby's way, "like bro that's a fish's house." Wise words to all the vegans out there. The only moral choice is to simply stop consuming water.
Every Mother's Child Is the Future Super Hero Tech Wiz
Watching the comic heroes from Marvel inspires something deep inside of each of us. Possibly, one day we can be a superhero too. Our parents watch these movies and see their children in each and every hero on the big screen. These assumptions are proven true whenever one of our guardians needs some help with modern-day technology and we are able to easily help them with these insignificant problems.
This image of superhero Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, using his technology capabilities and genius qualities to evaluate the Tesseract device reminds all mothers of their own children.
Everyone Has a Xavier to Deal With in Their Life
Xavier claims that he is a "very mature person" that apologizes when they are wrong. However, their friend David did not feel that to be the case, but Xavier reassured us quickly that was because they are "never wrong." We all have had to deal with our own personal Xaviers in our lives, and we often just have to throw our heads into our hands when reading this exchange.
While we all might be frustrated with Xavier it is also oftentimes more difficult to prove him wrong than to merely accept his existence and quickly move away from him.
Even Scientist Have a Hard Time Counting Past Ten, Sometimes
Counting is important for a multitude of reasons. For example, it helps us get through math class and it allows us to complete our taxes every year. While these are all important reasons to know how to count, sometimes we hope that people either forgot or never learned how to count past ten. This person's father is turning 64 and they are hoping that their father hasn't noticed their improvisations.
They are, most likely, hoping that their 64-year-old father does not notice the sign behind him that reads, in bold, bright, letters, 'Happy Birthday' with the awkwardly created '26' below.
