This Child With Cerebral Palsy Dressed Up As Beetlejuice
This 9-year-old was dealt tricky cards: He is living with Cerebral Palsy. But on Halloween, he didn't want that to hold him back from experiencing all the frightful fun the day has to offer. Dad helped him get a cool costume together that accommodated his wheelchair. Here he is, dressed up as Beetlejuice! Instantly recognizable, he's going to find a lot of fans. The film is still a classic, all these years later.
A couch has been used to roll Beetlejuice and two of his freaky friends through the neighborhood. To complete the look, we see white face paint, black eyeshadow, and the iconic wig and suit. It's show time!
This 3D Vincent Van Gogh Is Just Impressive
Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch painter who created more than 2,000 pieces. Most of us just know the major ones, like "Starry Starry Night". Truthfully, Vince had some challenges while he was working on them. In a fit of madness, he famously cut off his own ear! Such a fascinating figure would make a great costume, said this art teacher. With just paint, he managed to create an incredible pattern on his own face.
The style looks totally Van Gogh, we must remark. And the pattern goes all the way down on his clothes, creating the effect that he is a living portrait. In summary: Wowza!
Anglerfish Costumes Are Always Horrifying
Deep, deep down, twenty thousand leagues under the sea, there are literally monsters lurking in the dark. One such specimen in the anglerfish, as seen here. To adapt to the strange conditions below, the species has basically evolved into a demon. Its hypnotizing light is what lures other creatures near it, and then it clamps down with its repulsive jaws. We hate it, which makes it the perfect Halloween costume.
To make your very own version, you will need a few things. The easy part is the small clip-on desk lamp. That can be a headpiece, no problem. The jaws are going to be a real DIY, though. Gotta get those teeth just right!
This Guy Seriously Went as a Stock Photo
On social media, we try our best to take authentic pictures. But that's personal. In business, sometimes there is a need for a stock photo or two. Generic paper company? Plumbing or electricity ad? We can see a lot of situations where getting creative is not all that important. But on Halloween, it certainly is. Look at this guy, turning everything on its head. Is he just a stock photo?
He totally is a businessman with colleagues. We feel like we've seen him before, perhaps a thousand times. It's not a contradiction: This is an incredibly creative, yet boring idea.
This Halloween, Stop By the Apple Store as Fake Steve Jobs
Apple brought us the Macbook, the iPod, and the iPhone. Does anything truly compete? We say no! We are not surprised that founder Steve Jobs once said: "Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected." Fair enough, Steve. But more to the point, are people used to an environment where the founder visits from the grave on Halloween? We don't think so.
How are employees handling this spooky visit? Well, so far, no one seems to notice. When they realize that Steve is here, it will probably cause quite a fright. When they realize that it's October 31, they are likely to settle down.
This Guy Swapped His Own Face on the Starbucks Cup
Believe it or not, Halloween has reached Japan. This faraway island has its own spin on the tradition, though. There's nothing spooky going on in Tokyo: Young people have invented a costume concept that focuses on the mundane, on purpose. Here, the idea seems to be a face swap with a common, everyday product. Have you ever noticed the Starbucks lady on your coffee cup? This guy did, and made her into a whole Halloween concept.
The costume is easy enough as a DIY: First, print a tiny version of your own image. Then, print a big version of that coffee goddess. Make the switch and you're good to go!
This Little Girl Decided To Be Michelle Obama’s Portrait
We all had our role models growing up, and Michelle Obama now fills that spot for a lot of youngsters. This is a woman who once said: "I am an example of what is possible when girls from the very beginning of their lives are loved and nurtured by people around them." One little girl already loved the former first lady, and couldn't look away when she spotted this big painting. We get it!
It is a striking piece of art, no doubt. But most of us weren't creative enough to use it as Halloween inspiration. Here, she poses just like Michelle, in a very similar dress. The resemblance is undeniable!
He Was the Fire in the Fireplace at the Party
There's nothing like curling up in front of a warm fire. With central heating, there seems to be no need, and frankly, it can be a bit of a hazard. But what about a special occasion? On Halloween, this fellow decided to warm up his friends by becoming fire itself. Sitting under the mantle, the room finally seems complete. Imagine that space, all empty and sad. We shudder to think of it.
He might not be able to enjoy the party like everyone else, but he is certainly an important part of the mood. He's warm, he's bright, he's flickering with flames. Good for you, Mr. Fire.
Cosplay With Peter Pan and His Shadow
Peter Pan didn't want to grow up, like so many youngsters these days. "Anyone who wants to try and make me turn into a man, catch me if you can," he explained. The magic of Disney let him overstay boyhood, and as far as we can tell, he's still there. Some of us do wish we could be kids forever. Peter and his shadow could be your buddy costume, this Halloween. Are you brave enough to wear the tights?
In the film, Peter loses his shadow. You could spend the whole night chasing yours to amuse party goers. The antics are sure to get attention from the Tinkerbells in attendance!
When the Office Is Crowded Because Too Many Dinos
According to the U.S. Geological Survey office: "Dinosaurs went extinct about 65 million years ago (at the end of the Cretaceous Period), after living on Earth for about 165 million years." How does the government know that? We have no idea. But we trusted that the most terrifying predators are no longer a hazard. Strolling into work now, look out! There seem to be at least four lizards sitting in the conference room, right here.
How can that be happening? It's certainly a first, for us. We are not sure we want to get any closer than the picture. Unless, of course, it's just Halloween. Could be!
This Wheelchair Costume Is an Awesome Choo Choo
This little guy is dealing with a disability, but that doesn't mean he doesn't like costumes. We all love the chance to dress up as something out of the ordinary. Here, the family has helped build a train to cover up his little wheels with big wheels. Now, he is the conductor of a big locomotive. Most trick-or-treaters have to walk around, while he gets to zoom zoom. All the other kids are probably jealous, honestly.
At just four years old, this child is living with Cerebral Palsy. It's a tough set of cards to be dealt, so early. Loved ones didn't want it to be a challenge on Halloween, and went to his favorite movie for guidance. He loved the movie Polar Express. Great idea, fam!
This Lil’ Prez Has His Own Secret Service Detail
When you're the president of the United States, security is critical. According to the feds: "The Secret Service is the world’s most elite protection force and is at the cutting edge of investigating complex, cyber-enabled financial crime. To execute on these mission skill-sets, the Secret Service integrates rigorous training, skilled financial management, continuous human capital efforts, and robust strategic planning." Sounds super serious! As we can see here, agents work hard, even on Halloween.
As they should. If the leader of the free world wants to fill his bag with chocolates, that's just what he's going to do. Here, an agent waves us away. We've gotten a little too close!
This Terrifying Ghost Is Actually a Dog
The average ghost has its haunting grounds. Whether it's an old house or a rickety ship at sea, there are places we've come to expect their presence. Why these places? Well, they have their reasons. But believe it or not, there are still those out there who don't believe in the undead that float around us at all times. Since it's Halloween, we've tracked one down to dispel doubts. Look at this scary spirit!
Here, it hovers in classic white around residents of this home. This absolute ghoul is also hanging out with a few haunted pumpkins. We don't like any of it. Be gone, boo!
This Guy 3D Printed and Wore His Own Face
3D printing is one of the wildest technologies out there. So far, people printed pistols, bikes, and toys. Some companies are even printing foods. It's all very new and experimental. But has anyone ever tried to print out their own face, and wear it as a mask? For Halloween. that's exactly what this guest did. We love the red effect, as though he ripped off his own skin. Very realistic exposed flesh!
As he holds his dead, lifeless likeless on his lap, he seems to be making friends. It's a little surprising. But on Halloween, it's okay to be grisly and gruesome. Some might even say, it's required.
This Girl Went as Human Stained Glass
For Halloween, this artsy farty gal decided she wanted to go glassy. It may be a craft that has gone out of fashion, but stained glass was once the trendiest thing around. In the middle ages, churches were decorated with colorful windows. The glass was stained in patterns that showed off human figures and natural scenery. A lot of it has survived to this day, and it's quite a sight.
To become a living church window, it looks like she started with black outline featuring candlesticks and leaves. Then, she filled in each shape with color. Incredible, isn't it?
This Three Legged Partier Went as a Tripod
Taking pictures is a hobby for some, but it's an art for others. You can snap a handheld camera. But some photographers like to use more equipment at a shoot. Lighting and backdrops help to create illusions, and you probably want a tripod to steady your hand while all the action is going on. Here, one furry Halloweener has decided to dress up as that very stand. It's a perfect choice because he basically already functions that way!
We don't know why doggo here is missing a leg. But he seems to have a great attitude about his situation. He's a tripod, and we love it. What a sense of humor!
This Girl Went as a Tired Mom and We Get It
When you've got little ones running around, it's tough to take time for yourself. It can be a challenge to plan out costumes for parties, for example. Halloween can really sneak up on you, in-between loads of laundry and sinks full of dishes. The floor is always dirty, and toys just seem to have a life of their own. Maybe the solution is just dressing up as the tired mom you are!
Here, it seems that is the costume of choice. But we don't think this girl went this way out of necessity. She probably just observed frazzled mom and got inspired. We love the look!
When You Have Surgery the Day Before the Party but Still Want To Dress Up
Health is wealth, as they say. Most of us can count the lucky stars that we're safe and sound right now. But life has its curveballs. Even kids sometimes have serious scares. Here, we found a situation where the family tried to help make a scary situation scary in a good way! The photo was captioned: "My nephew had a six-hour heart surgery the day before Halloween. This is how they solved his walking restriction for trick or treating."
Presumably, to cover up bandages, they went with this look: A old-fashioned insane asylum patient, complete with a mask and restraints. To help him get around during recovery, there's a dolly. Very well concealed. We would neer guess the truth!
This Absolute Dough Boy Went as the Pillsbury Man
When you're an infant, a lot of costumes are too advanced. Mom here decided to go with a well-known mascot. Poppin' Fresh is his name, though he is widely known as the Pillsbury Doughboy. We;'ve all seenhim on the commercials getting poked by customers. Is that the case here? The photo caption explained: "She even giggles when you poke her belly button." If you had any doubts, now you know!
We love this little outfit on the littlest trick or treater today. She's probably too young to be snacking on crescent rolls or toaster strudels. But soon, we are sure she will be a fan. Just like the rest of us.
Their Costumes Are a Simple Wheelchair Joke
Here at The Yuk Yuk's Comedy club, there's a Halloween costume challenge. The entire year is filled with conventional jokes. But there's no reason to let the scariest day of the calendar pass by without comment. Guests are invited to dress up, but make it funny. Here, we have the winners. One man stands, while the other sits in his wheelchair. But their outfits are nothing to look at, as far as costumes go.
Maybe that's because the silly factor is in the signs. Reading, we can see: One friend is a stand-up comedian. The other is a can't-stand-up comedian. They went with a wheelchair joke!
Hocus Pocus Is This Fellow’s Favorite and We Don’t Blame Him
There are plenty of Halloween movies out there, but one stands out in the crowd. Among all titles, we must say that Hocus Pocus gets our vote. This fellow certainly agrees with us. We can tell because he's decided to go as his favorite witch. A friend snapped a photo, and explained: "My buddy’s Winifred Sanderson costume he made for Halloween. Boohoo! My buddy’s Winifred Sanderson costume he made for Halloween. Booooook!"
We know he doesn't look exactly like Bette Midler, but the spirit is there. We're glad to see he included the all-important spellbook. Also, he's sticking out his teeth and pouting, just like her. We're about to ready to dance, dance until we die!
They’re All Zombies and You Need To Run For Your Life
When you're part of the army of the undead, it's best to attack people when they're least suspecting it. You don't want to give them a chance to shoot you with an arrow, or whatever it is that vanquished zombie folk. Here, two such monsters are out and about on Halloween. It's going to be easy for them to blend in. At that point, we advise everyone to watch out and run like mad.
Even a pet has been affected by the zombie plague, here. His cold, dead eyes are very unsettling. If there's anything we don't want in the neighborhood, it's a devil dog.
This Little Girl Was a Garbage Truck by Request
Our personalities start forming pretty early on in life. Sure, we learn and grow over time. But some things just seem to be innate. This toddler is already an out-of-the-box person, and we know that because of how she identifies on Halloween. Mom explained: "My daughter’s preschool had a costume party last Halloween. There were 9 princesses, 2 superheroes, and 1 garbage truck. She was the garbage truck." The garbage truck? That's right, that stinky old thing!
Even though princess was an easy way to go, this little girl had her heart set on her favorite thing ever. Kudos to mom for letting her follow her dreams!
Scooby Doo Was a Great Recovery Costume for This Patient
We all loved Scooby and the gang in the classic cartoon. Whether you were a fan of the people, the animals, or the ghosts on the show, there was something for everyone. Here, one woman is riding the classic Scooby Bus for Halloween. Why? Hubby captioned it: "My wife was in an accident about 2 months ago resulting in a severe brain injury. We thought we’d make the most of the situation."
Everyone has joined in on the fun here, including the family pooch. although the real character was supposed to be a great dane, we think this is close enough. As a giggiling gaggle, they are unmistakable!
Say Hi to a Dead Body Left on Mount Everest
Mount Everest holds the honor of being the highest mountain above sea level. As part of the Himalayas, it must be satisfying to boast to all the other peaks out there. But there is a problem with that mountain, and it involves over-eager hikers. Everybody wants to get to the top, but it's a really challenging climb. Every year somebody dies on the way. Experts estimate that around 300 bodies are currently lurking in the snow somewhere. Kind of spooky!
There are so many hazards that it seems to take mountaineers by surprise. There are lower levels of oxygen. And the cold really gets to you, too. This Halloween, why not bet his frost-bit fellow?
Little Bob Ross Had a Happy Halloween Painting Things
Bob Ross charmed us all on public television. The natural scenes he captures on canvas were really an impressive feat within the confines of a half-hour show. With only a paintbrush and soothing voice, we fell in love. Clearly, the legend of Bob has reached the youngest generation. Look at this charming toddler costume! This Halloween, try an interactive concept. You don't have to use real paint, but it's still fun to pretend.
All you need is a button-up shirt and a little artwork to carry around. A brush and pallet complete the look. Don't forget to fluff up your child's hair, if you want authenticity. As Bob always said, happy painting!
Ramen Noodles Are Always Better With a Friend
It's cheap. It's easy. And we have to admit, we sometimes indulge. Many a college student has survived on bowls of instant ramen. But believe it not, it's actually a more developed cuisine in Asia. We know that you usually just open a little powder packet and add hot water. It's a lazy solution we support. But In Japan, they have real meat or fish broth with tasty toppings. Sliced pork and scallions, anyone?
Here, our favorite instant meal is the inspiration for a costume. Man and dog are wearing DIY bowls, and it looks like the boiling water hasn't been added. Hopefully, n one will get the wrong idea!
Silly Ratatouille Is Trapped in This Chef’s Hat
In France, ratatouille is one of the most popular home-cooked meals. It's basically veggies and wine warmed up in a pot but done just right. Disney chose this classic dish as the name of a rat in a recent animated movie. Lil' Ratatouille aspires to become a renowned chef, but no one will let him chase his dream. Customers don't want to eat anything that got near a rat. Even if he is the cook!
Here, we see a clever Halloween chef's costume. Inside the white hat are a light and a rat figurine. It totally looks like a scene from the film, but we hope other guests know it!
When Your Girlfriend Won’t Come To the Party, Try This
Sometimes, you just don't agree on party plans with your partner. One guy tried to get his girl to come to a Monster Mash, as is customary on Halloween. But she just wasn't into it. Here was his solution, captured in a photo by his bro, who explained: "My brother was sad his girlfriend couldn’t come to our Halloween party, so he came as both of them." Half is better than nothing, we guess!
To pull off the concept, he cut things. Half a button-up and one pant leg are contrasted with a dress and one leg of legging. We love his half wig and half beard!
This Gramps Went as Princess Leia and R2d2
Star Wars has its fans across generations. It came out in the 1970's, after all. It should surprise no one that some of its original fans have gotten older since then. Like grandpa here. He decided he wanted to pay tribute to Princess Leia And R2D2 this Halloween. He started with a simple white outfit and buns. But then, he recruited his vacuum cleaner to join in on the fun.
Such a great tribute. It must have been fun to walk around the house saying his favorite lines as Leia. We know we have a few, you stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking, Nerf-herders!
He Went as His Own Cat and the Cat Was Shocked
It's true, cat is not the most creative costume choice on the planet. There's the black cat idea, as well as the more exotic leopard option. Both seem to be available at every single store. Thankfully, this guy went above and beyond all our feline expectations. Look at that giant paper mache head! A friend snapped a picture and shared: "My buddy dressed up as his cat for Halloween. Look at the cat's face."
As surprised as we are to see a high-effort feline on Halloween, no one is more shocked than his own pet. We know what it is thinking. Say it together: What a copycat!
This Pikachu Costume Was Perfect for a Wheelchair
We know, you gotta catch 'em all. But have you, yet? We're pretty sure there are still a few Pokemon out there, and that's why we need to keep hunting. This loving dad made a Pokeball costume for his son's wheelchair. We are touched to see how much love was put into the project. And we are tickled to see that dad himself is a part of the fun, dressed as the main character from the Pokemon series.
We all know that each poke device stores a special creature. Inside, the boy is dressed as Pikachu. Who wouldn't be? As the star of the show, he was an obvious top choice. Sorry Bulbasaur, maybe next year.
This Giant Guy Wasn’t Actually Using Stilts
Whether it's fair or not, height is a factor in so many things in life. Whether it's being chosen for a leadership position, getting lucky with the ladies, or joining the NBA, stature clearly plays a role. This young man was blessed with a very uncommon amount of leg room. It's usually hard to blend in with a crowd. But here, it seems he found a workaround. He explained: "I'm 7 foot. For Halloween I went as a normal guy on stilts."
We can see how many might be fooled at first glance. How common is it really, to meet some this tall? We might even check for stilts, on a regular day.
How To Dress Up Spooky During Chemotherapy
Some would think that getting hospitalized could ruin Halloween. In this case, that might have happened if not for a visit from a mischievous friend. With their help, dress up happened in the hospital. Check out these dark disguises! They're hardly as scary as cancer. And in this picture, the patient is actually getting chemo. Not a pleasant process, we hear. Perhaps it's the perfect time for a little pretend.
It's tough to sit in that chair for hours and let the medicine work its magic. We love this sick visit, in the meantime. Get well soon, mystery goon!
Hide Your Decapitated Head in a Fridge Like a Pro
When you need to store your own head in a cool place, the freezer is the obvious choice. Usually, it's not something we try to do. But on Halloween, it could become a challenge. With so many headless horsemen walking around, you might even need to help out a friend. This woman expertly shows us how to store the human head for use after October 31. Find that spot in between the Eggo waffles and the frozen buffalo wings, and you're good to go.
Admittedly, it's pretty grisly. We have totally lost our appetite. As she rolls around the block, we imagine she also scared the children. But that's what this hellish holiday is for, isn't it?
We Like That This Is the Laziest Costume Ever
Sometimes, we just don’t have the energy to find the perfect costume. But there is a way to make understated a real statement. Like this guy! He explained his strategy as follows: "Last year I stuck 50 samples of grey paint samples to my shirt for my office Halloween party, this year I got even lazier.” Let's examine what he chose to do with his October opportunity. Looks like he went with a sign, but what dos it say?
It's a 404 error message, folks! Just like a file we needed, this costume has just disappeared from the web. Where did it go? In this case, we don't believe that ever even happened.
How To Use a Big Baby Belly on Halloween
Being pregnant presents costume challenges, to be sure. A whole lot of ideas you might want to portray just don't have a baby bump. What's a soon-due mom to do? We say, go wit your look and make it into a man's beer belly. No other choice is more relevant than Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons. With just a little yellow and a magic market beard, we say it's a transformation.
This gal really stole the lookl: The blue tee, the red shorts, and the coca-cola in an extra-large cup. All that's she's missing is a comic book. But overall, it's incredibly authentic.
We Forgot About This Classic Microsoft Mascot
Back in the day, there weren't many amusements on a PC. It was fun to play solitaire and Freecell, perhaps. But not much else was going on. Microsoft word was exciting just because it had an animated character. Remember that paperclip that kept popping by to assist? We actually forgot about him. But this Halloween costume brings back all the nostalgia. What a clever choice, especially as a work costume!
All the familiar elements are there: We've got the metal loop, the big eyes, and the yellow notepaper. The eyebrows are even floating just the way we remember. Thanks for all the help over the years, Mr. Clip!
Coraline and Creepy Mom Go Trick or Treating
The movie Coraline was a fan favorite, back in 2009. Count this little gal among the fans, since she has chosen the cartoon as her Halloween costume. In the film, little Coraline finds a door in her house to another world. The mom in that alternative reality happened to look pretty scary. Real-life sis captioned the photo: "My 6-year-old sister wanted to be Coraline for Halloween and for me to accompany her as the other mother. Here is our result!"
To achieve the look, a yellow raincoat and boots were paired with a short blue wig. Mom put on black and grey face paint and grimaced for the camera. Very Coraline, as a duo!
This Young Mouse is Caught in a Deadly Trap
Animal lovers may claim they love all creatures. But do they, really? The rodent kingdom includes rats, mice, squirrels, porcupines, beavers, prairie dogs, guinea pigs, and hamsters. It's not everyone's favorite category, we know. Especially the mice! Sure, they are sometimes kept as pets. But most of us actually hate having them around. We set cruel traps to get rid of them in our homes. Is it right? Maybe not!
Here, one mouse has been caught in a big trap. It is now being wheeled around the neighborhood on Halloween. Gross, right? No, it's actually just a human baby in a wagon. Phew!
